Modern Slavery Statement & Policy

1. Modern Slavery Statement & Policy - Purpose

Modern slavery is a serious crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It includes slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, and human trafficking. All forms involve the deprivation of a person’s liberty in order to exploit them for personal or commercial gain.

Artist Republic has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all business dealings and relationships, and to implementing reasonable systems and controls to reduce the risk of modern slavery taking place in our own operations or in any of our supply chains.

We also expect the same high standards from all of our contractors, suppliers, and business partners. Any agreements with suppliers or contractors will make clear that forced, compulsory, or trafficked labour — whether of adults or children — will not be tolerated. We expect our suppliers to hold their own suppliers to the same standard.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all individuals working for or with Artist Republic in any capacity. This includes employees, directors, officers, agency workers, contractors, freelance musicians, session players, suppliers, business partners, and any other third parties engaged in providing goods or services.

It applies to all areas of our business operations, both within the United Kingdom and internationally. The policy also extends to any associated supply chains, whether they provide goods, services, or specialist expertise.

Everyone covered by this policy has a responsibility to help prevent, detect, and report any suspected instances of modern slavery or human trafficking in our business or supply chains.

3. Responsibility for the Policy

The Directors of Artist Republic have overall responsibility for ensuring this policy complies with our legal and ethical obligations, and that it is implemented consistently across the organisation.

Management at all levels is responsible for ensuring those reporting to them understand and comply with this policy, and for promoting a culture of awareness and vigilance against modern slavery.

All staff, contractors, and collaborators are expected to read, understand, and comply with this policy, and to be alert to the risks in our business and supply chains. Preventing and addressing modern slavery is a shared responsibility.

4. Compliance with the Policy

All individuals working with or for Artist Republic must ensure they read, understand, and comply with this policy.

The prevention, detection, and reporting of modern slavery in any part of our business or supply chains is the responsibility of everyone working for us or under our control.

You must avoid any activity that might lead to, or suggest, a breach of this policy. If you believe or suspect that a conflict with this policy has occurred, or may occur in the future, you must report it promptly to a Director.

Reports can be made in confidence, and concerns will be taken seriously and investigated appropriately. No one will suffer any detrimental treatment for refusing to take part in, or for reporting in good faith suspicions of, modern slavery.

5. Risk Assessment and Due Diligence

Artist Republic recognises that certain areas of our operations and supply chains may carry a higher risk of modern slavery, particularly where work is carried out in countries or industries with weaker labour protections.

We take a proportionate, common-sense approach to assessing these risks and will focus our efforts where the likelihood and potential impact are greatest.

Our due diligence processes may include:

1. Reviewing the practices of potential suppliers and contractors before engaging them.

2. Requiring suppliers to confirm that they operate in compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and other applicable laws.

3. Maintaining contractual rights to terminate agreements if instances of modern slavery are found.

Where possible, we will work with suppliers and partners to address any identified risks and improve standards, rather than immediately ending relationships, unless serious breaches require otherwise.

6. Reporting Concerns

Anyone working for or with Artist Republic who suspects or becomes aware of any instance of modern slavery or human trafficking within our business or supply chains must report it immediately.

Reports should be made to a Director or other senior manager. Concerns can also be raised in writing if preferred, and may be made in confidence.

We will investigate all reports promptly and, where necessary, take appropriate action. This may include working with law enforcement or other relevant agencies.

No one will face retaliation or detrimental treatment for raising a concern in good faith, even if it turns out to be unfounded.

7. Training and Awareness

Artist Republic is committed to ensuring that those most closely involved in managing suppliers, contractors, and recruitment understand the risks of modern slavery and how to identify potential warning signs.

Where relevant, we will provide proportionate training or guidance to staff and managers so they can recognise indicators of modern slavery and know how to respond appropriately.

We will also make this policy available to all staff, contractors, and key suppliers, and highlight our expectations during onboarding or the start of a working relationship.

8. Breaches of the Policy

Any breach of this policy by staff may result in disciplinary action, which could include termination of employment.

If a contractor, supplier, or other business partner is found to have breached this policy, Artist Republic reserves the right to take appropriate action. This may include ending the relationship, terminating contracts, or reporting the matter to there levant authorities.

We may also choose to work with the party involved to improve standards and address issues, provided the breach is not serious and there is a genuine commitment to change.

9. Policy Review

This policy will be reviewed regularly, and at least once every two years, to ensure it remains effective, relevant, and compliant with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and any other applicable laws.

The Directors of Artist Republic are responsible for reviewing the policy and approving any updates.

Any changes will be communicated to staff, contractors, and key suppliers, and the latest version will be made available on request.

Artist Republic will not tolerate any form of modern slavery or human trafficking in our business or supply chains. We are committed to acting ethically, working with integrity, and taking reasonable steps to ensure that everyone connected with our operations is treated fairly and lawfully. Preventing exploitation is part of our responsibility to the people we work with, our clients, and the wider industry.
